Privacy policy

Who we are

KYNVO is a peer-learning initiative in Egypt's STEM schools: students and teachers teach each other, and every volunteer hour is recorded. The site is run by the initiative's founder (the owner) and a team of admins and students.

The initiative is not a business. There are no ads and no data is ever sold to anyone.

The data we collect

When you create an account we store:

• Your full name, email address and phone number (phone is optional).
• Gender and batch (students) or school and subject (teachers and principals).
• The subjects you can teach and your reason for joining, if you wrote them.
• The member ID and QR code generated for you automatically.

While you use the site we record:

• Your attendance at sessions: check-in and check-out times and your role (member / volunteer / organizer), from which your volunteer balance is calculated.
• Your bookings, groups, teaching offers, the ratings you write, and your messages to the owner.
• Any files or links you upload to a group.

We do not store IP addresses with your account and there are no advertising cookies. Visit statistics are daily counts per page with no personal data.

Why we use it

• To record your attendance, count your volunteer hours and issue a QR-verified certificate.
• To email you a sign-in code, a reminder before a session you booked, and a notice if you are appointed to a role.
• So your group manager can review your request and rate your participation, and the owner can resolve any complaint.
• So your school principal can see the school's totals (without any email or phone number).

Who sees what

• Visitors: your public profile shows only your name, ID and volunteer hours (when the owner has hours visible). No email or phone.
• Group members: your name and ID in the group directory.
• Group managers and admins: your details and attendance, within their own work only.
• The owner: everything, as the person responsible for accounts and complaints.
• The school principal: totals for their school, and the names of volunteer teachers and top students by ID only.

We do not share your data with any company or third party. Emails are sent through a mail provider (Gmail) only so they reach you.

Your rights

• You can edit your details from "My profile" and reset your QR code at any time.
• You can request a copy of your data or full deletion of your account by messaging the owner from "Contact the owner" or at the email below. We reply within 7 days.
• If you are under 18, your parent or guardian can make the same requests for you.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed and nobody can read them. Signing in from a new device needs an email code. The whole site is on HTTPS, and uploaded files are stored outside the public folder.
